First Trips
 

The First Trips program is designed to address parents’ concerns about feeling welcome at the City’s cultural institutions, knowing what to do once there, and how to answer their children’s questions.

The program organizes weekend museum trips for families which pair families on their first museum visit with a small number of volunteers; and brings structure to the trips with a program of hands-on activities at the cultural institution.

Activities include parent-child activities and an independent learning experience for parents which provides teaching techniques that can be used to engage their children in future visits.
